In our diverse communities today, it is easy for one to fall into fear when there are so many misunderstandings. Too often, it is why people do certain things in the name of survival. Fear thrives in the absence of mutual understanding and diversity. But there is an antidote: compassion. When we focus on growing with compassion, we will find the need to work on our egos and selfishness. We ask our egos to stay caring. We ask our hearts to stay open to situation we are fearful of. We hold ourselves with tender compassion. Find the courage to ask what's triggering fear within you. What insecurities, unworthiness and self-doubt are you working with? Compassion is the link between all of us. When we do come together, we will notice that we are not all that different, regardless of what we agree upon or not.
